Scrappy Saturday #15

AND Halloween Mini Swap info.

halloween

First of all, I finally got everything figured out for the Halloween Mini Swap! Here are the dates and deets:

1. Swap Sign-ups will run from Monday 9/6 to Monday 9/13

2. Mail out date will be Monday 9/27 (which will give the procrastinators 4 days before Oct. to scramble and mail late… Ahem, yes I am talking about myself.)

3. I am going to do it the old fashioned way and match you up myself instead of the progressive swap. There will be a survey to fill out so you can get to know lots about your partner.

4. It will still be a mini swap, but as always you can change that amongst yourselves.

5. ALL the details will be available on Monday’s (Sept 6th) post.

Now, show me what you made this week!

Scrappy Saturday #14

Yep, late again.

Well I have scheduled the next 5 Scrappy Saturday’s so this tardiness wont happen again for at least 5 weeks ;)

I made a wristlet clutch today… and that’s about it for this week. It was my first week back to school and I was BUSY! I don’t even have real “homework” yet!

Hours at school per week: 17

Hours driving to school per week: 10

So I am spending at least 27 hours a week away from home! I just keep telling my self, I am almost done, I am almost done!

Just some cool pictures

We went to the state fair last month and had a blast eating greasy, sugary fair food, seeing pregnant cows and people watching (can you say weirdoes?)

We also got to watch an awesome FMX (freestyle motocross) show. It was so cool, we watched it three times! The kids also got to meet the riders and get their autographs.

As a mother, I about had a heart attack when these boys would do their tricks, but it was truly a thrill to watch!

Here is a shot to put in perspective how high off the ground they were.091Here are some tricks286 276 273 271 270285 My favorite… “got a little captain in you?”268 image The riders went around giving high-fives after each show

Slacking I mean Scrappy Saturday

Man I really am slacking on these Saturdays aren't I? Saturday just seems to come SO quick!

This week I didn’t get much accomplished. I started back to school Tuesday with my first night class and have been feverishly trying to get the house in order before Monday when I REALLY go back to school.

I got these two clutches and one crayon roll done.

IMG_0736The flowers are on pins and can be removed.

I bought scrapbook paper today to make one of these.

I also let the kids pick out some fabric for “their” projects. Tatum wants custom sleeping bags for her two stuffed dogs she sleeps with every night and Luke wanted a pillow case. So they got to pick out their own fabrics and thread. I hope to tackle those projects tomorrow.

Last night Aaron took Luke to his first Cub Scout overnighter. They attended a local minor league baseball game and then got to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid on the jumbo-tron and then got to camp on the field! Luke was THRILLED and Aaron kept texting me,“this is actually really fun!”

It is deliriously cool and grey today (hence the boys coming home as soon as the ballpark was unlocked at 6am) and it makes me want to start crafting Halloween BADLY! I think another mini-swap is in order… what do you say?

In the meantime, show me what you made this week. (link party open until Thurs.)

Weekend Woes

Sorry for the missing Scrappy Saturday this week. We had a garage sale at my mom’s house on Saturday but left Friday night to spend the night. We took a huge trailer load of stuff up there. Just was we were getting ready to put the last item in the truck… I broke my toe.

I was rushing through the kitchen and tripped over Brody’s high chair. He was in it. I knew immediately that it was broken. I was afraid to look at it, you know how when you stub your toe you grab it and hop around? I was afraid to remove my hand… I thought my toenail would be gone and my toe would be all crooked.

I was half right, my toe was bloody, black and huge. My nail was still there but I definitely did something to it like jammed it back into my toe? I know, gross. But this was serious stuff folks, in all my almost 32 years, I had never broken a bone. AND you KNOW how much I hate feet to begin with, even my own. Ugh.

But you know what, I manned up – I still had to help Aaron load the last item in the trailer… a 50 gallon fish tank – with water, rocks and fish in it… can you say bad timing? We did it though, I survived the dreaded garage sale and it wasn’t that bad. Let me tell ya though, I really felt old this weekend.

Hope you all had a much less eventful time!

Random Dribble

First of all, I just tried this tonight and it was really good! We are trying to clean out the pantry and the freezer so we also pulled out frozen edmame and egg rolls… made a really good meal! Going to make a whole ham tomorrow night with potatoes and then use the bone for white bean chili next week. Ahh food – how I love thee.

I have tweaked my clutch design a bit and came up with these two today.

I added the credit card/ ID pockets in these. They are listed for 12.00 (actually the top one already sold!)

By the way (again), is there something wrong with Blogger’s comments being posted or is it me? I haven't had a blog comment in 4 days. Or are you guys just sick of me?
